Earlier today, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE has been in contact with Enzo Amore and Big Cass about a surprise return to be top stars on NXT.
Meltzer made it clear that he didn’t know if the offer was accepted but if they were to sign a deal then the obvious speculation would be that they would appear on the first head-to-head show against AEW.
After the story broke, WWE told media outlets they were not interested in Big Cass and Amore.
So, either someone was eager to leak the word out about talks with WWE or there is smoke to the story and WWE doesn’t want their surprise ruined.
According to WWE, they are not returning. I guess we’ll know for sure on October 2nd when NXT goes head-to-head with AEW.
WWE says no interest in Enzo & Cass at this time. So looks like that's not happening.
