The latest edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown saw its ratings drop.
The October 8th edition of show averaged 2.147 million viewers on FOX, which is down from last week’s show that did 2.252 million viewers, according to ShowBuzz Daily.
In the all-important 18-49 demographic, the show did a 0.52 rating, down from the 0.62 rating last week. Here’s the breakdown in each demo for the show:
Viewers 18-34 – 0.33 – last week: 0.40
Viewers 18-49 – 0.52 – last week: 0.62
Viewers 25-54 – 0.66 – last week: 0.73
Female viewers 18-49 – 3.6 – last week: 4.5
Male viewers 18-49 – 5.6 – last week: 6.0
Viewers 50+ – 2.9 – last week: 2.9
This episode featured Sami Zayn vs. Rey Mysterio and Finn Balor vs. Cesaro in King of the Ring tournament matches, as well as Zelina Vega vs. Toni Storm and Carmella vs. Liv Morgan in Queen’s Crown tournament matches. The show opened with a contract signing between Bianca Belair, SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, and Sasha Banks for their title match at Crown Jewel.
SmackDown went up against an MLB playoff game on TBS as well as the premiere of Shark Tank’s new season on ABC. The show was ranked #3 on TV overall in the demo for the day.
This episode was expected to be down from last week’s show as it was the first night of the Draft. Friday’s episode of SmackDown this week will air on FS1 and be a two and half hour special with the last 30 minutes being commercial-free.
