WWE SmackDown 7/9/21 overnight ratings rebound after last week’s all-time record low

The overnight ratings are in for Friday’s WWE SmackDown episode from Tampa, Florida at Yuengling Center.

The episode drew an average of 1.881 million viewers, which is up from last Friday’s SmackDown episode that did an average of 1.741 million viewers on FOX, according to Spoiler TV.

The first hour did 1.956 million viewers while the second hour did 1.805 million viewers. To compare, last week’s first hour had 1.699 million viewers and the second hour had 1.782 million viewers.

It also pulled in an average of 0.45 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That is up from the 0.40 rating in the 18-49 demographic the show did last week.

Last week was the lowest-rated episode of SmackDown on FOX in the overnight ratings as the previous low came back on July 3, 2020 with 1.777 million viewers. Also, unlike last week, WWE didn’t face any competition from the NBA or NHL.

SmackDown was in the middle of the pack for the night among the networks in viewership. It should be noted that this is the overnight number and the actual rating won’t be released until later this week.

The episode featured Tegan Nox & Shotzi Blackheart vs. Natalya & Tamina, Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro, and Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Baron Corbin in Money in the Bank qualifying matches.
