Welcome to the WWE SmackDown Pre-Show, and we are live on the WWE Network. A recap video package of Randy Orton hitting Brock Lesnar with an RKO on RAW was shown. Jerry Lawler offered his dog to Orton to help him defend himself against Lesnar on SmackDown. There was a backstage segment with Fandango and Tyler Breeze talking about getting payback on Orton. American Alpha get a hype video package. Scott Stanford, Jerry Lawler and Lita hype what we will see tonight, which is AJ Styles’ message to John Cena and Eva Marie wrestling.
Welcome to SmackDown Live. We see Shane McMahon yelling at Orton backstage about him attacking Lesnar on RAW. Shane said that it was pretty awesome though. Shane had security on stand by for Orton. Orton said that he doesn’t need security to take out Lesnar. Orton said all he needs is an RKO to take care of Lesnar. The Miz walked up and said that he hasn’t been used right. Bryan booked a three-way between Baron Corbin, Kalisto and Apollo Crews to crown a number one contender for his IC Title.
Dean Ambrose walks down to the ring. Ambrose brought up him beating Rollins and Reigns at Battleground to be Undisputed Champion. He then switched focused to his match with Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam. Ambrose gave Ziggler props to him for winning last week’s match. Ambrose then asked Ziggler to come down to the ring, which he did. Ziggler noted that he made his WWE debut as a male cheerleader and how he has scratched and clawed his way to WWE. Ambrose said that Ziggler has wasted his time complaining. Ambrose said that he has stepped over each and every roadblock that has been in his way. Ambrose said that Ziggler can’t do that because he is too worried about what people think of him. Ambrose knows what they will have a great match at SummerSlam but because he is a winner, he will retain the WWE Title. Ziggle then said that he broke records in college to get a shot at being a Superstar in WWE. Ziggler thinks that he has been overlooked for the past seven years. Ziggler that vowed to beat Ambrose’s ass at SummerSlam because he is that damn good. Ambrose said that Ziggler thinks he is better than he actually is and then walked to the back. The lights went out and then back on. Bray Wyatt hit Sister Abigail to Ziggler. Wyatt said that Ziggler doesn’t deserve the right to call himself a champion. Wyatt doesn’t think that Ziggler won’t be the next WWE Champion. Wyatt said that Ziggler stole something from him and he wants it back. Wyatt challenge Ziggler to a match tonight and if Ziggler loses then he will take his place at SummerSlam and be the #1 contender.

Ziggler demanded that Shane and Bryan give him a match with Wyatt tonight.
Triple Threat #1 Contender’s Match: Baron Corbin vs. Apollo Crews vs. Kalisto with Miz on commentary.
Crews and Kalisto double teamed Corbin early. Kalisto rolled up Crews for 2. Kalisto sent Crews to the floor and hit an outside dive to Corbin.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Corbin in control. Kalisto sent Corbin out of the ring but Crews caught Kalisto with a samoan drop for 2. Corbin hit a slam to Crews for 2. Corbin put the boots to Kalisto in the corner. Crews and Corbin battled when Kalisto went for a dive but was caught by Corbin and Crews drop kicked Corbin out of the ring. Crews rolled up Kalisto for the win.
Winner: Kalisto.
Post-match, Corbin attacked Kalisto from behind. Crews made the save. The Miz attacked Crews from behind and hit Skull Crushing Finale to Crews. Corbin hit End of Days to The Miz.

Singles Match: Eva Marie vs. Becky Lynch.
Before the match even started, Marie complained that she hurt her leg. The match was called off and she was helped to the back by a trainer.
Renee Young asked Carmella what she thought of Marie’s injury. Carmella thought it was a scam and Marie was not really hurt. Natalya walked up and told her that she thinks the women’s division needs her on top. Carmella told Natalya to go put on her catsuit. Natalya challenged her to a match. No date was given for it though.

Tag Team Match: American Alpha vs. The Vaudevillains.
Gable and Gotch started things off. Gable took him down and worked over Gotch’s left arm. Jordan was tagged in and Gotch with a knee strike. English was tagged in and went for an arm drag but Jordan got the tag to Gable. Gable hit a drop kick to English. Gable was distracted by Gotch and English kicked him in the back. Jordan got the hot tag and started hitting suplexes to Gotch and English. Jordan hit a spear to English and then American Alpha hit their tag team finisher for the win.
Winners: American Alpha
-Commercial Break-
AJ Styles walked down to the ring and wanted to talk about John Cena. This led to Cena walking out right away. Styles told cena that he had a message for Cena. Styles was going to explain why he has a problem with Cena. Styles said that he has beaten Cena up and beaten him in the ring, yet he is still here. Styles said that he doesn’t want Cena here in the WWE. Styles said that Cena doesn’t belong in this ring with him anymore. Styles said that the fans are weak minded people, especially in Nashville. Styles said that it starts with the kids who want to be just like Cena and that the parents are delusional and who think that kids should get a trophy for everything. Styles added that Cena is delusional. Styles said that kids shouldn’t get a trophy for participating but for winning. Styles wants to know where he is trophy is because he is the greatest for beating Cena. Cena said that Styles has some issues that he needs to work out. Cena said that the fans cheer and boo him. Styles said that he would prove that Cena is fraud and already proved that he can beat Cena. Cena told him that he is here to shut Styles’ up. Cena added that Styles needs to be responsible for what he says. Cena explained that the reason why he is still here in WWE is because of the passion he has for this company. Cena said that he loves when kids cheer for their favorite Superstars and the parents thanking him for doing what he does. Cena said that he likes when people asks him when he will leave WWE. Cena said that WWE will always be his home. Cena said that he doesn’t have an off day and will be representing WWE while on the Stephen Colbert show. Cena said that Styles is a really good wrestler and if he doesn’t work here he will go somewhere else. Cena said that he doesn’t have anywhere to go, but he is here out of love and questioned why Styles is here in WWE. Styles knew that was what Cena was going to say. Styles challenged Cena to a match at SummerSlam. Cena accepted the challenge. Styles said that it would be great when Cena will have to appear on SmackDown the Tuesday after Summerslam and will have to say that Styles is better than he because if Cena doesn’t then, he is a liar.

Singles Match: Randy Orton vs. Fandango.
Orton knocked him down and put the boots to him. Orton hit a suplex for 2. Brock Lesnar ran through the crowd and hit Orton with an F5.
Winner via DQ: Orton.
Shane and Daniel ran down to the ring with security to get Lesnar out of the ring.

Heather Slater was in Bryan’s office. Bryan wants to know what he wants. Slater that he is the hottest free agent right now. Bryan booked Slater in a match for next week and if he wins then he gets a SmackDown contract. Rhyno speared Slater and Bryan said that it’s Rhyno.
Renee Young interviews Ambrose. Ambrose said that anything could happen on SmackDown live.

Natalya attacked Carmella during her entrance. She locked in the Sharpshooter.
Shane and Bryan told that Ziggler that they believe in him but he doesn’t need to fight Wyatt tonight. Ziggler told them to screw off.

Singles Match: Bray Wyatt vs. Dolph Ziggler.
They brawl to begin the match. Ziggler rolled him up for 2.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Wyatt hitting a super plex for 2. Wyatt locked in a headlock but Ziggler fought out. Ziggler with some clotheslines, a splash in the corner and a neck breaker for 2. Wyatt cut him off and hit a back splash for 2. Ziggler hit a Zig Zag to Wyatt for 2. Wyatt went for Sister Abigail but Ziggler reversed and rolled him up for 2. Wyatt with a chokeslam for 2. Wyatt landed some big right hands to the grounded Ziggler. Ziggler with a back elbow and a superkick for the win.
Winner: Ziggler.
Ziggler celebrated in the ring and then had a stare down with Ambrose. Erick Rowan ran down to the ring and attacked Ziggler. Ambrose made the save and attacked Rowan. Rowan hit a side slam to Ambrose. Wyatt hit Sister Abigail to Ziggler and stood over him to close the show.
