Welcome to the WWE SmackDown pre-show, and we are live on the WWE Network. Scott Stanford, Booker T, Jerry Lawler and Lita hype what we will see tonight, which is Daniel Bryan responding to The Miz and Dean Ambrose vs. Baron Corbin. Dolph Ziggler will be on Miz TV. Nikki Bella joined the show via Skype and talked about Carmella attacking her last week. Bella noted that she doesn’t know why Carmella attacked her.
Welcome to SmackDown Live. A recap video of Daniel Bryan and The Miz’s segment on Talking SmackDown was shown. We see Shane McMahon and Bryan backstage. Shane said that Bryan owes Miz an apology. Shane told him that he couldn’t get into a talent’s face. Bryan said that he was right and that he finds it ironic that Shane told him that coming from a guy who has beef with Brock Lesnar.
The Miz with Maryse walked down to the ring. Miz asked the fans if he has their attention. Miz told the fans not to boo him after he has been pushed aside because of his GM. Miz said that he had been IC Champion for 148 days, and it took that long to get the fans attention. Miz said that he would make the IC Title relevant again. Miz said that he is a safe wrestler because he doesn’t get hit like the other losers. Miz said that WWE calls him when they need a spokesperson or for a commercial or to headline a WrestleMania. He explained that he does it all and does it without getting injured. Miz said that the fans don’t like him because he didn’t start his career in a bingo hall. Miz said he is not a failure and that the fans are cowards. Dolph Ziggler walked down to the ring. Ziggler said that yes Miz does everything WWE asks him to do, but the fans will never get behind him because they see right through him. Ziggler said that they all go above what they’re supposed to do but Miz just wants to be famous, and that’s why Bryan called him soft. Ziggler challenged him to a match, but Miz retreated to the back.

Tag Team Title Tournament: Hype Bros vs. The Vaudevillians.
Ryder and Gotch started things off. Ryder drop kicked him out of the ring. English was tagged in and attacked Ryder from behind. English hit a knee drop. Moments later, Rawley got the hot tag and hit a series of clotheslines to English. Rawley with a punch to English and then he and Ryder hit their finisher for the win.
Winners: Hype Bros
Hype Bros cut a promo in the ring after the match about winning the SmackDown Live Tag Team Titles.
There was a backstage segment with AJ Styles and Apollo Crews. Styles told him that he runs this place.
-Commercial Break-
AJ Styles walked out to the ring for a promo but was interrupted by Apollo Crews, who said that he is wrestling Styles right now.
Singles Match: Apollo Crews vs. AJ Styles.
The match starts when we come back from break. They exchange right hands and Crews took him out with an outside dive. Back in the ring, Crews put on the top rope and but Styles pushed him down. Crews hit a power slam for 2. Styles knocked him down and hit the springboard forearm shot for the win.
Winner: Styles.

There was a comedy segment with Heath Slater, Rhyno and Renee Young at Slater’s house. He introduced his wife. Young asked Slater about not being drafted. Slater said that he is not an afterthought while Rhyno ate some cheese and crackers.

Bray Wyatt walks down to the ring. Wyatt cuts a promo about Randy Orton and how he is sick, but that’s what he likes about him. Wyatt said that Lesnar showed all of Orton’s flaws and how Orton thought he was untouchable but after his fight at SummerSlam, he becomes damaged. Wyatt told Orton to run. This led to Orton walking down to the ring. Orton said that voices in his head are asking him who Wyatt is. Orton said that he is damaged and has been for a long time, and that gives him charm. Orton told him that he had his attention. Wyatt said that he has been looking for this from him. Wyatt said that Orton is no longer the pretender in this situation but the weak. Wyatt said that a pretender kills and at Backlash he will hang his head on his mantle. Orton said he had played this game before. Orton brought up his matches with Cactus Jack and The Undertaker. Orton said that the scars Wyatt needs to worry about are inside of him not outside. Orton said he could have him at Backlash.

Tag Team Match: Alexa Bliss and Natalya vs. Naomi and Becky Lynch with Nikki Bella on commentary.
Naomi and Natalya lock up.Naomi hit a hurricanrana, and we cut to break.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Natalya and Bliss in control of Naomi. Naomi hit a jawbreaker to Bliss and tagged in Lynch, who hit a series of clotheslines to Bliss. Lynch with a jawbreaker and then a forearm shot in the corner. Bliss landed a back elbow. Lynch went to the top rope and hit a dropkick for 2. Natalya broke up the pin attempt. Naomi attack Natalya while Carmella ran down and attacked Bella at ringside. Bliss rolled up Lynch for the win.
Winners: Alexa Bliss and Natalya

Tag Team Title Tournament: Rhyno and Heath Slater vs. The Headbangers.
Slater and Mosh start things off. Slater knocked him down, but Mosh landed a right hand and then hit springboard dive. Thrasher was tagged in and hit a shoulder block. Thrasher hit a back suplex. Thrasher hit a splash off the top rope and Rhyno made the save. Slater tagged in Rhyno, who hit a Gore to Thrasher for the win.
Winners: Rhyno and Heath Slater
-Commercial Break-
AJ Styles on commentary while Gary “The Milkman” Millman cuts a promo in the ring about wanting a match. Kane walked out and choke slammed him and then walked to the back.
Singles Match: Baron Corbin vs. Dean Ambrose.
Corbin attacked him right out of the gate and kneed him in the gut. Ambrose sent him to the floor and then sent him into the announcing table. Back in the ring, Ambrose hit a big boot and a drop kick. Ambrose hit a forearm shot, but Corbin then sent him into the turnbuckle and a clothesline followed by a series of right hands. Corbin sent him to the floor.
-Commercial Break-
We’re back with Corbin in control of Ambrose. Ambrose fought back and hit a neck breaker. They exchange right hands. Corbin missed a spear and Ambrose rolled him up for 2. Corbin hit a clothesline. Ambrose no sold a right hand and hit a clothesline for 2. Ambrose went to the top rope but Corbin knocked him down. Ambrose pushed him down and sent him to the floor and hit an outside dive. Back in the ring, Corbin hit a side slam for a near fall. Corbin sent him back first into the barricade. Ambrose fought back and sent him into the ring. Ambrose hit an elbow drop off the top rope for 2. Styles distracted Ambrose and Corbin rolled him up for 2. Styles accidentally kicked Corbin in the head causing the DQ.
Winner: Corbin via DQ.
Post-match, Styles and Ambrose brawled. Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds to Corbin and blocked the flying forearm and sent Styles nuts first on the top rope then walked to the back to close the show.
