SmackDown faced stiff competition from the Women’s College World Series finals on ESPN. Game 3 between Texas Tech and Texas was the top primetime telecast in the 18-49 and 25-54 demographics, drawing 2.397 million total viewers. The softball game achieved a 0.47 rating in the 18-49 demo and a 0.58 in the 25-54 demo.
A breakdown of viewership by gender reveals that SmackDown was particularly dominant with male viewers. The show registered a 0.54 rating among males 18-49, the highest on the night. For males 25-54, it drew an impressive 0.71 rating, also topping the chart. The program’s rating among females 18-49 was 0.29.
On a network-by-network basis for the evening, USA Network tied for the highest rating in the 18-49 demo with a 0.42 average and led outright in the 25-54 demo with a 0.54 average.
Other top-viewed programs of the night included Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News with 2.720 million viewers and ABC’s 20/20 which brought in 2.660 million viewers
