WWE SmackDown: Jade Cargill In Action, Last Time Is Now Tournament Matches

WWE SmackDown emanates from the MVP Arena in Albany, New York, as John Cena’s farewell tour continues to dominate WWE programming. The “Last Time is Now” Tournament moves to the blue brand tonight with two major opening-round matches, one of which will feature the first surprise entrant of the 16-man field.

John Cena’s Final Opponent

The tournament to determine who will face John Cena in his final match on December 13 at Saturday Night’s Main Event continues. One of Cena’s oldest and most bitter rivals, The Miz, is set to compete. As the man who defeated Cena in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII, The Miz has been vocal that he deserves to be Cena’s final opponent. To earn that right, he must get through “Main Event” Jey Uso, a former World Heavyweight Champion and one of the top babyfaces on the roster.

In the second tournament match of the night, LA Knight will be in action, but he faces a major disadvantage. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis has gleefully kept the name of Knight’s opponent a secret after drawing it from the tumbler last Friday. This has led to heavy speculation that the mystery opponent could be an up-and-coming star from NXT or even a former rival of Cena’s not currently employed by WWE. Nick Aldis is also expected to announce the final entrants into the tournament tonight as he pulls four more names from the tumbler.

The New Champion In Action

Following her dominant victory over Tiffany Stratton at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, the new WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill will be in action tonight. After the win, Cargill declared herself to be “That Bitch” and is ready to prove it to any woman who steps to her. B-Fab, who has shown she will not accept disrespect, had a brief verbal altercation with Cargill backstage last Friday. That confrontation has led to this non-title match, as B-Fab attempts to walk right into the eye of the storm.

The Road To WarGames

The push to Survivor Series is officially on. After Nia Jax and Lash Legend cost Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles on Monday Night Raw, all four women are expected to be on the show tonight as they build toward their eventual WarGames match at the end of the month. Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes is also scheduled to appear.

“The American Nightmare” has already joined a WarGames team with World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Jey Uso, but he has unfinished business with Aleister Black and the suspended Drew McIntyre. “The Scottish Warrior” was suspended by Nick Aldis last week after attacking a referee and ruining the main event between Rhodes and Black. The question remains if McIntyre will defy his suspension and show up in Albany.
