WWE SmackDown Preview: Rhodes & Orton Team Up, Title On The Line

With WWE Crown Jewel now just over a week away, tonight’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown from the Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, Ohio, is set to be a massive show. The card is loaded as the final build to the premium live event in Perth, Australia, continues. In the main event, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will team with his mentor, Randy Orton, to take on The Vision, Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed. This match is a direct result of The Vision’s continued interference in the rivalry between Rhodes and their leader, World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins, who are set to face each other at Crown Jewel.

After a successful defense last week, Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton will be on hand tonight to address her Crown Jewel opponent, Raw’s Women’s World Champion, Stephanie Vaquer. Stratton is coming off a title defense last week in a triple threat match.

In another championship bout, the fighting United States Champion, Sami Zayn, will once again issue an open challenge for his title. After a string of defenses against the likes of John Cena and Carmelo Hayes, it remains to be seen who will step up to challenge Zayn tonight.

Also announced for the show, the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, Charlotte Flair and Ohio’s own Alexa Bliss, have promised to handle some “business” in the Queen City. Damian Priest will be in action. This comes after Aleister Black once again got the better of him with a backstage attack last week.
