WWE SmackDown Preview: United States Open Challenge, Jade Cargill Breaks Silence

The final WWE SmackDown before Saturday Night’s Main Event goes live tonight at 8 p.m. ET from the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Jade Cargill will be in the building to address her actions from last week.

Jade Cargill To Address WWE Universe

In her first appearance in nearly a month, Cargill assaulted Tiffany Stratton. The attack came moments after she helped the WWE Women’s Champion fend off an attack from Giulia and Kiana James. Cargill’s motivations are clear as she prepares to challenge Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship this Saturday night.

Rhodes And McIntyre Appear

Drew McIntyre has been gifted another opportunity to challenge Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The match comes following a mysterious attack on Jacob Fatu earlier this month. The American Nightmare has been in a “funk” for weeks and has not won a match since he defeated McIntyre at Wrestlepalooza. Frustration has boiled over for Rhodes on multiple episodes of SmackDown, and both champion and challenger are scheduled to be in attendance tonight.

United States Open Challenge

Men’s United States Champion Ilja Dragunov is coming off a successful first title defense last week, where he defeated Aleister Black. The “Mad Dragon” received an assist from the returning Damian Priest, who has unfinished business with Black and Zelina Vega. It remains to be seen how Black and Vega will respond, or who will be next to answer the United States Open Challenge.

Other Announced Matches

Two other matches have been announced for the show. WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Alexa Bliss will go one-on-one with her former friend and rival Nia Jax. The match was made after the Irresistible Force attempted to sow seeds of doubt in Charlotte Flair’s mind about her tag team partner.

Also, Carmelo Hayes is set to face Kit Wilson. Hayes has stated his business with The Miz is finished and is ready to move on. Wilson, however, is on a mission to stomp out toxic masculinity and interjected last week to put Hayes’ ego in check. Randy Orton, Sami Zayn, and Chelsea Green are all being advertised for the show locally.

WWE SmackDown Card (Announced):

  • Jade Cargill to address the WWE Universe ahead of her title match against Tiffany Stratton
  • WWE Champion Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre are slated to appear
  • Ilja Dragunov Men’s United States Open Challenge
  • WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Alexa Bliss vs. Nia Jax
  • Carmelo Hayes vs. Kit Wilson

This is the final show before Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1. The card for the event is set with four championship matches. The show will be headlined by Cody Rhodes defending the Undisputed WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre and Jade Cargill challenging Tiffany Stratton for the WWE Women’s Championship. Also, CM Punk and Jey Uso will face off for the vacant World Heavyweight Championship, and Dominik Mysterio will defend his Intercontinental Championship in a Triple Threat Match against Penta and Rusev .
