#1 Contender Match for Cody Rhodes’ title at Backlash:
LA Knight vs AJ Styles
Knight gave Styles a powerslam and elbow drop. Styles escaped the BFT, poked Knight in the eye, and gave him the Phenomenal Forearm to pin him.

Solo Sikoa arrived in the parking lot. He told Paul Heyman that Tama Tonga is the newest member of The Bloodline and told him to take him to Kevin Owens. Solo referred to Tonga as his MFT.
In the ring, Triple H presented A-Town Down Under with the new WWE Tag Team Championship belts. Triple H went to shake their hands and they snubbed him and shook their own hands. Nick Aldis told A-Town that if they disrespect Triple H again, he will make them disappear permanently.
Backstage, Naomi said her friendship will not get in the way in her title match with Bayley tonight.
Fatal 4-Way Match to determine the #1 Contender’s to the SmackDown Tag Team Titles
The Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins ) vs New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate & Pete Dunn) vs Legado del Fantasma (Humberto & Angel) vs Authors of Pain (Akam & Rezar) (w/ Karrion Kross, Paul Ellering, and Scarlett)
Humberto caught Bate with an inside cradle for a near fall. Angel gave Bate a moonsault, went for the cover, but Ford came off the top rope with a splash Angel. The Street Profits hit the Revelation on Angel and pinned him.

Backstage, Bayley said she will be facing her friend, Naomi tonight, but she will still be champion at the end of the match.
Paul Heyman apologized to Solo for not being able to find Kevin Owens. He told Solo I’m not trying to piss you off, but you’re making decisions that are not yours to be made yet. One day, these will be your exclusive decisions, but not now. These are decisions that can only be made by one man.
In the ring, Solo grabbed the microphone from Paul Heyman. Solo said last week I had to lose a brother in order to mind myself a new one, my MFT, Tama Tonga. The camera panned to The entrance where Tonga threw down a bloody Kevin Owens. Tonga got in the ring and held up One along with Solo and then Heyman. Owens pulled Tonga out of the ring and began punching him. Solo threw Owens into the ring steps and threw him in the ring. Tonga went after Owens, but Owens threw down Tonga and started punching him. With officials trying to hold Owens back, Solo spiked him. Tonga again attacked Owens until Nick Aldis got in the ring and told them to leave.
Nick Aldis took Paul Heyman outside and showed two cars that had crashed into each other. He asked Heyman if he knew about this and then explained one car belonged to Kevin Owens and one belonged to Tama Tonga. Aldis said I’m not tolerating this type of savage behavior. Make sure The Bloodline understands this because the repercussions are going to be equally savage. Losing isn’t the only thing that has consequences.
Earlier today, Santos Escobar once again said Legado del Fantasma had nothing to do with the attack on Dragon Lee. I’m going to prove to everybody I was right all along.
Carlito (w/ Zelina Vega) vs Santos Escobar (w/ Elektra Lopez)
Vega tried to give Lopez a head-scissor, but Lopez caught her and slammed her head first against the barricade. While Carlito was trying to get back in the ring, the referee was distracted telling Lopez not to interfere. The distraction enabled Escobar to kick the middle rope which crotched Carlito. Escobar threw Carlito shoulder first into the ring post, gave him the Phantom Driver, and pinned him.
===Winner: Santos Escobar
Damage CTRL was interviewed in the press box ahead of the Bayley vs Naomi title match. Dakota Kai said Damage CTRL is still the most dominant force in WWE. The Kabuki Warriors are still the Women’s Tag Team Champions and that is not going to change. Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair appeared in the press box going into the commercial break.
Earlier tonight, Cody Rhodes said I’m in London tonight and Belfast tomorrow night. I’m keeping my promise on bringing the WWE Championship all around the world. AJ Styles has emerged as the number 1 contender. At Backlash, I’m looking forward to it.
WWE Women’s Championship Match:
Bayley (champion) vs Naomi
Naomi dove over the top rope on Bayley. Bayley gave Naomi a Bayley to Belly on the announce desk. Tiffany Stratton appeared at ringside and punched Bayley. The bell rang. Stratton threw Bayley into the ring steps and Naomi into the ring post. Stratton threw both into the ring, laid them side by side, and gave them the Prettiest Moonsault Ever.
