Opening Segment: The Attack
The show opened with announcers Joe Tessitore and Wade Barrett welcoming the audience, followed by a recap of the Royal Rumble. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre made his way to the ring, but he never made it inside.
Cody Rhodes attacked McIntyre from behind, violently sending the champion into the ring apron and the ring post. The brawl spilled into the crowd, with Rhodes looking to inflict serious damage until security swarmed the area to hold him back. A shaken McIntyre retrieved his title belt and retreated backstage while Rhodes entered the ring to address the crowd in his hometown area.
Cody Rhodes Addresses the Rumble Fallout
Rhodes grabbed a microphone and asked McIntyre if he thought things would go back to normal. “Things will never be the same,” Rhodes declared. He reminded everyone that McIntyre eliminated him from the Royal Rumble despite not even being an official participant in the match.
Rhodes admitted that, for the first time in his career, he cannot in good conscience point to the WrestleMania sign. He referenced the segment on Raw where Roman Reigns and CM Punk declared their hatred for one another, calling it a “measuring contest” that he is glad to be excluded from. He said, “I heard it was going to be a you-know-what measuring contest, well they better be glad I didn’t get the invite, because I didn’t get the nickname Raheem for no reason!”
Rhodes spoke about the pain of returning to the city where he was born “empty-handed,” describing the shame and discomfort he feels. He turned that emotion on McIntyre, vowing that his shame would become Drew’s downfall. He promised that McIntyre would not make it to WrestleMania.
Backstage: Nick Aldis and Cody Rhodes
General Manager Nick Aldis intercepted Rhodes backstage. He laid down the law: if Rhodes wants a shot at Drew McIntyre, he has to earn it. Aldis announced that Rhodes must compete in an Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match next week. Rhodes agreed to control his emotions and left the arena.
Backstage Interview: Giulia and Kiana James
Cathy Kelley interviewed Giulia and Kiana James ahead of their Women’s Tag Team Championship match. James dismissed their Royal Rumble performance as a “blip” and outlined their master plan: the tag titles are merely a stepping stone. The goal is for them to win tonight, followed by Giulia winning the Elimination Chamber to become a triple champion at WrestleMania.
SmackDown Results: Tag Titles Defended; Ilja Dragunov Hunts for Gold
Match Number One: Iyo Sky & Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Giulia & Kiana James
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship
The opening contest saw the champions defend against the formidable duo of Giulia and Kiana James. The match highlighted the simmering rivalry between the Joshi stars, as Giulia specifically demanded to face Iyo Sky. Giulia used her physicality to toss Iyo around, mocking her with taunts, while Kiana James utilized cheap shots behind the referee’s back to keep the “Genius of the Sky” isolated.
Iyo endured a prolonged beatdown but eventually made the hot tag to Rhea Ripley. “Mami” cleaned house with clotheslines and a facebuster. The action broke down into chaos with Iyo hitting a risky suicide dive to the outside. Inside the ring, the challengers nearly stole the win after a Kiana James 401k and a knee strike from Giulia.
The Finish:
The champions’ chemistry prevailed. After Rhea Ripley saved the match with a headbutt, she caught Giulia with the Riptide. Iyo Sky immediately followed up with her signature Moonsault to secure the pinfall and retain the titles.
Winners and STILL WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions: Iyo Sky and Rhea Ripley
Backstage: Ilja Dragunov, The Miz, and Carmelo Hayes
Backstage, a focused Ilja Dragunov was marching through the hallway when The Miz stopped him. Miz urged Ilja to “use his head” sometimes, revealing that he went to General Manager Nick Aldis and secured the match Ilja wanted.
United States Champion Carmelo Hayes interrupted the conversation. Hayes acknowledged that Ilja deserves a title shot—technically—because he beat The Miz. However, Hayes promised that tonight, Ilja would only receive an “ass whooping.”
As Hayes walked away, Miz shouted a final warning to the champion: “You better not miss.”
SmackDown Results: Carmelo Hayes Outlasts The Miz
Match Number Two: Carmelo Hayes vs. The Miz
Non-Title Match
Following the backstage confrontation, The Miz attempted to jump the United States Champion before the bell, attacking while Carmelo Hayes was removing his jacket. Hayes quickly recovered, using his speed to hit a springboard clothesline. However, Miz’s veteran instincts took over when he capitalized on an awkward landing by Hayes, grounding the high-flyer with aggressive tactics including a Reality Check and a DDT.
The match developed into a competitive back-and-forth battle. Hayes rallied with a flip dive to the outside, but Miz countered a frog splash by getting his knees up. Miz nearly secured the upset with a slingshot sit-out powerbomb and signaled for the finish.
The Finish:
Miz attempted the Skull Crushing Finale, but Hayes rolled through to escape. After Miz blocked an initial attempt at the First 48, Hayes adjusted, rolling through a second Skull Crushing Finale attempt to finally connect with the First 48 (Codebreaker) to secure the three-count.
Winner: Carmelo Hayes
SmackDown Results: Tiffany Stratton Qualifies; Bo Dallas Haunts Solo
Backstage: Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green
Cathy Kelley interviewed Tiffany Stratton regarding her next steps. Stratton recalled having a WrestleMania match in her rookie year and vowed not to stop her quest for the title. Chelsea Green interrupted, claiming “no one cares.” Stratton fired back with a grim prediction: Chelsea will be in the “obituaries” after her loss tonight.
Bo Dallas’ Message to Solo Sikoa
A chilling vignette aired featuring Bo Dallas addressing Solo Sikoa. Dallas claimed Solo took the lantern and left the family in the dark not because he wanted to be alone, but because he was scared of being left behind.
“Fear doesn’t show up when everyone is together,” Dallas chortled. “Fear shows up when you are all alone.”
Match Number Three: Tiffany Stratton vs. Lash Legend vs. Chelsea Green
Elimination Chamber Qualifying Match
The match featured a clash of styles, with the powerhouse Lash Legend dominating early, using Tiffany Stratton to knock Alba Fyre off the apron. The alliance between Stratton and Green was tenuous at best, but they were forced to work together to survive Lash, who at one point press-slammed Stratton directly onto Green.
The chaos spilled to the outside where Nia Jax and Alba Fyre got involved. Chelsea Green hit an impressive Coast-to-Coast dropkick on Lash, but Nia Jax pulled her off the cover. After Stratton and Green teamed up to send Lash crashing into the timekeeper’s area and delivered double superkicks to Nia Jax, the match returned to the ring.
The Finish:
With Lash neutralized at ringside, Tiffany Stratton capitalized. She hit the Finlay Slam followed by the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to secure the victory and her spot in the Chamber.
Winner: Tiffany Stratton
Backstage: Randy Orton and Aleister Black
Cathy Kelley interviewed Randy Orton, who expressed dissatisfaction with his Royal Rumble performance. He noted that if he wins tonight, he will enter his tenth Elimination Chamber match, giving him more experience than anyone. Aleister Black interrupted the interview. He told Orton that after saying goodbye to “two of the greatest” recently, the locker room is “blessed” to still have Randy.
SmackDown Results: Oba Femi Dominates; Drew McIntyre Attacked Again
In-Ring Segment: Kit Wilson
Kit Wilson came to the ring to complain about his experience watching the Royal Rumble. He described the event as “disgusting,” filled with “thirty chauvinistic pigs” and “ugly meatheads.” Wilson labeled the sweating, grunting, and tantrums as “toxic.”
He claimed the other wrestlers didn’t want him in the match because they were battling to be the “biggest alpha,” whereas he is a “real man” who moisturizes, listens, and knows how to move his hips. Wilson issued an open challenge to anyone who was in the Rumble, claiming to be the tonic to their toxic masculinity.
Match Number Four: Oba Femi vs. Kit Wilson
Oba Femi answered the challenge, strutting to the ring. Wilson attempted to tell the powerhouse that he was the problem, but Femi responded with violence.
Femi delivered three running European uppercuts in the corner, followed by a Toss Powerbomb. He took a moment to strut before finishing Wilson off with a sit-out Powerbomb for a dominant squash victory.
Winner: Oba Femi
Backstage: R-Truth, Damian Priest, and Drew McIntyre
Backstage, R-Truth joked that “Oba” stands for “Oh My Goodness” and marveled that Femi got into the Rumble without touching a lottery ball.
Suddenly, a furious Drew McIntyre bumped into R-Truth while storming toward the entrance. Damian Priest immediately stepped up to defend his friend. Priest told McIntyre that they have done this dance enough times; Drew already has enough problems tonight without adding Priest to the list.
In-Ring Segment: Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu
Drew McIntyre returned to the ring for the second time tonight, attempting to speak. However, just like the opening segment with Cody Rhodes, he was interrupted by violence.
Jacob Fatu attacked McIntyre before he could say a word. The “Samoan Werewolf” unleashed a flurry of punches and a running hip attack before clotheslining McIntyre over the top rope. Fatu followed up with a massive suicide dive.
As Fatu destroyed security guards who tried to intervene, McIntyre waited for an opening to counter-attack. However, Fatu floored him with a vicious forearm. Realizing he was outmatched in his current state, McIntyre retreated through the crowd while Fatu stood tall atop the announce table, howling at the ceiling.
After the commercial break, Nick Aldis told Fatu to go home and he can get his hands on Drew next week in an Elimination Chamber qualifying match.
SmackDown Results: Tama Tonga Cheats to Win; Fatu’s Ultimatum
Segment: Nick Aldis and Jacob Fatu
Following his attack on Drew McIntyre, Jacob Fatu was confronted by General Manager Nick Aldis. Aldis laid down a path for Fatu: if he wants to get his hands on McIntyre, he must qualify for the Elimination Chamber next week. Fatu accepted the condition with a vulgar warning, promising to “dog walk their asses.”
Match Number Five: Tama Tonga vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
The match was a hard-hitting affair, with Nakamura utilizing his strong style kicks and knees against the wild aggression of Tama Tonga. The Bloodline’s numbers game played a significant factor early, with Mateo providing distractions that allowed Tama to hit a sliding clothesline and an elbow off the barricade.
Nakamura fought back with a sliding German suplex and a knee off the ropes. He nearly secured victory with a reverse exploder, but the interference proved too much.
The Finish:
As Nakamura set up for the Kinshasa, Mateo distracted the referee. This allowed Tanga Loa to grab Nakamura from the floor. Tama Tonga capitalized on the immobilized Nakamura, delivering two consecutive Cutthroat Drivers in the corner to secure the pinfall.
Winner: Tama Tonga
Backstage News & Interviews
Tension Between Candice LeRae and the Tag Division
Backstage, Axiom and Nathan Frazer discussed a match against the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley). Candice LeRae interrupted, confronting the NXT Tag Team Champions about “what they did to Johnny” (Gargano). Frazer showed no remorse, stating they simply took back what Johnny took from them.
Desperate, Candice asked Sabin and Shelley to talk to Johnny. However, Sabin refused, citing Gargano’s past betrayals.
Damage CTRL, Nia Jax, and a Stare Down
Cathy Kelley interviewed Rhea Ripley and Iyo Sky following their successful title defense. The champions declared they are on their “A-Game” heading into WrestleMania and plan to add more gold in their Elimination Chamber qualifying match on Raw.
Nia Jax interrupted, arguing that Lash Legend should have been in the qualifier earlier tonight. Nia claimed that she and her team would have beaten the champions if they were in the ring. Iyo treated this as a challenge, and Nia said they would speak to Nick Aldis.
As the tension mounted, Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez walked past the group, staring them down without saying a word.
Kit Wilson Confronts Matt Cardona
A towel-clad Kit Wilson confronted Matt Cardona (flanked by Apollo Crews) backstage. Wilson blamed Cardona for his earlier embarrassment against Oba Femi, claiming the “toxic” atmosphere was fading until Cardona arrived. Wilson warned that he isn’t done with him yet.
Cardona simply chuckled and delivered his catchphrase: “I am Alwayz Ready.” Wilson stormed off to take a warm bath.
SmackDown Results: Chaos in the Women’s Division; Trick Williams Mocks Sami Zayn
In-Ring Segment: Liv Morgan, Jade Cargill, and Jordynne Grace
General Manager Nick Aldis introduced the 2026 Royal Rumble winner, Liv Morgan, who came to the ring accompanied by Raquel Rodriguez. Liv corrected the introduction, claiming she isn’t just the greatest Rumble winner, but the “hottest, smartest, funniest, and most iconic woman in WWE history.”
Liv teased her WrestleMania decision between WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill and Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer. However, before she could decide, she acknowledged a “huge elephant in the room.” Raquel took the microphone to address said elephant (presumably Liv eliminating her from the Rumble), but Jade Cargill interrupted.
Jade made it clear she didn’t care about Liv’s accolades, threatening to “beat that ass” at WrestleMania if chosen. Liv laughed it off, suggesting she might pick Vaquer just so Raquel could be the one to humble Jade.
Jordynne Grace then entered the fray. She congratulated Liv but implied that by the time WrestleMania comes around, she might be the champion Liv has to face.
Tensions boiled over when Jade told Liv to “shut up, bitch.” Nick Aldis intervened, stating that if they want to talk tough, they have to fight. He booked an immediate tag team match.
Match Number Five: Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez vs. Jade Cargill & Jordynne Grace
The impromptu match featured a heavy-hitting showdown between the powerhouses, as Jade Cargill and Raquel Rodriguez collided with shoulder tackles where neither woman would budge. The heels, Liv and Raquel, eventually isolated Jordynne Grace, utilizing quick tags and tandem offense.
Grace fought back with a series of suplexes on Liv Morgan and a Michinoku Driver for a near fall. The match broke down in the final minutes. Grace blocked ObLIVion and attempted a Burning Hammer, but Liv countered with a Codebreaker.
The Finish:
The match ended in a comedy of errors and friendly fire. First, Jade Cargill accidentally Superkicked her own partner, Jordynne Grace. Moments later, Raquel attempted to boot Jade, but Jade ducked, causing Raquel to kick Liv Morgan in the face instead.
amidst the confusion, a recovered Jordynne Grace shoved Jade out of the ring and rolled up a bewildered Raquel Rodriguez for the pinfall.
Winners: Jade Cargill and Jordynne Grace
Post-Match:
Raquel Rodriguez stared daggers at Liv Morgan, the tension between the two continuing to mount.
Backstage: Sami Zayn, Rey Fenix, and Trick Williams
Backstage, a dejected Sami Zayn walked through the hallway, receiving encouragement from peers regarding his inability to beat Drew McIntyre. Rey Fenix stopped Sami, calling him an inspiration and urging him not to give up.
Trick Williams interrupted the moment to mock Sami. He used a basketball analogy, telling Sami he is like Charles Barkley—great, gets to the playoffs, but can never win the big one. Trick declared himself the Michael Jordan of the situation.
Rey Fenix took offense, telling Trick that if he kept talking, he would knock his teeth out. Trick smirked and accepted the challenge: “Any time, anywhere.”
SmackDown Results: Jade vs. Grace Set; Drew McIntyre Fires Back at Roman & Punk
Backstage: Title Match Made Official
Following the chaotic finish to their tag team match, Jade Cargill and Jordynne Grace were shown yelling at each other backstage. General Manager Nick Aldis stepped in to settle the dispute immediately. He announced that Jade Cargill will defend the WWE Women’s Championship against Jordynne Grace next week on SmackDown.
In-Ring Segment: Drew McIntyre Addresses the World
After being attacked twice earlier in the night, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre finally returned to the ring to speak his mind. He demanded that Cody Rhodes and Jacob Fatu be banned from the Elimination Chamber qualifying matches for their assaults on him.
McIntyre then pivoted to the war of words between Roman Reigns and CM Punk on Raw. He called the two superstars “insecure,” claiming their promo was a declaration of war against the prestige of his title. McIntyre passionately defended the WWE Championship, stating it was built by “real men” who didn’t quit or work part-time schedules, referencing his own tenure carrying the company during the pandemic.
McIntyre addressed Roman’s decision to choose Punk over him:
“I get it. You have a 280-pound Scottish War Machine on one hand, and on the other, you have Fragile Phil.”
McIntyre claimed he would have destroyed Reigns years ago if not for the Bloodline’s constant interference. He declared himself the “Number One Champion” and the “Real Best in the World.”
Trick Williams Interrupts
Trick Williams interrupted the champion, coming out ahead of his Elimination Chamber qualifying match. He told McIntyre that he was worrying about all the wrong people—Roman, Punk, Cody, and Fatu. Trick warned Drew that he is the man to worry about and vowed to be the one to take the WWE Title.
McIntyre dismissed the upstart, telling Trick to “walk before you run.” He threatened that if Trick interrupted the champ again, he would put his boot “where the sun don’t shine.”
