Cody Rhodes attacked by Drew McIntyre:

Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and Logan Paul were in the ring to start the show. As Logan Paul was about to speak, The Usos came to ringside. Heyman told them there are four of us and two of you and you’re going to get your ass whipped. The Usos said they didn’t show up alone. Cody Rhodes’ music played but he didn’t come out. The cameras cut to the parking lot where they showed Drew McIntyre coming out of Cody’s bus as Cody was bleeding from his forehead. Drew said, “I’ll see you at WarGames” before driving off.

United States Open Challenge Match: Ilja Dragunov (Champion) vs JD McDonagh

Dragunov hit McDonagh with a back suplex. He went for the Torpedo Moscow but got caught with a right hand by JD. JD hit a moonsault off the top rope on Dragunov for a near fall. Dragunov hit McDonagh with a powerbomb and an H-Bomb to pin him and retain his championship

Winner and still United States Champion: Ilja Dragunov

Backstage:

Alexa Bliss told Charlotte Flair she was proud of her for putting aside her differences with Rhea Ripley and joining her in WarGames. Charlotte said she only did it for and it doesn’t mean she trusts anybody else. Alexa walked her into the room Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY were sitting in. She told Charlotte to have a chat with them, and then left the room.

Backstage:

Nick Aldis told Paul Heyman that the only reason why he allowed Bronson Reed on his show is because he has a match in the Last Time is Now tournament. He also warned Heyman that Drew McIntyre is persona non grata on this show. Heyman said he understands that, and that’s why Drew stayed outside. He then said he asked Drew to leave because he respects the suspension.

Last Time is Now Tournament Match: Bronson Reed (w/ Paul Heyman) vs Carmelo Hayes

Hayes dropkicked Reed out of the ring which brought out Bron Breakker and Logan Paul. Hayes hit a frog splash off the top rope for a near fall. Reed hit Hayes with the world’s strongest slam followed by a senton. Reed came off the top rope with a Tsunami but Hayes moved out of the way. Hayes hit Reed with the First 48 which sent Reed out of the ring. Hayes dove over the top rope onto Reed, Breakker, and Logan. He pushed Reed back into the ring. Hayes came off the top rope with a dropping DDT for a near fall. Reed hit Hayes with a clothesline. Hayes rolled out of the ring. 

Logan got on the ring apron to distract the referee. Breakker went for the running spear outside the ring on Hayes, but Jey Uso appeared and superkicked Breakker in the process. Jimmy Uso attacked Logan Paul. Heyman got on the ring apron to distract the referee. Reed went to jump Hayes outside the ring when Cody appeared and gave Reed a Cross Rhodes on the mat. Cody threw Hayes back in the ring and Reed was counted out of the ring.

Winner by countout: Carmelo Hayes

After the match, Cody Rhodes warned Paul Heyman’s team that the WarGames is his birthright and he’ll defeat his team.

Backstage:

Chelsea Green grew anxious over her upcoming championship celebration, admitting to Alba Fyre that perhaps the event shouldn’t even happen. Just as she proclaimed herself the “Greatest Women’s Champion Ever,” Jade Cargill stepped in and took exception to that statement.

Backstage:

Sami Zayn stood with The Motor City Machine Guns, Rey Fenix, and Shinsuke Nakamura. Zayn said they are united against the MFTs. Next week on SmackDown they will face the MFTs in a traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match

Fraxiom (Nathan Frazier & Axiom) vs #DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) (w/ Candice LeRae)

Ciampa threw Axiom out of the ring. Axiom kicked Ciampa in the face. Axiom and Gargano exchanged a kick to the face. Axiom gave Gargano a Spanish Fly off the top rope. Candice got on the ring apron and pulled the mask of Axiom. Axiom immediately covered his face as Gargano covered him for the pin. DIY walked off with his mask as Axiom covered his face with a towel.

Backstage:

Rhea Ripley told Charlotte Flair that what went down between them was to prove who was the best. At WarGames, she’s willing to put that aside. She has always respected Charlotte and wants to go to war with her. Charlotte said she can and they shook hands.

Last Time is Now Tournament Match: Finn Balor vs Penta

Penta hit Balor with a Muscle Buster for a near fall. He followed it up with an armbreaker. Balor hit Penta with a Sling Blade and a running dropkick. Penta moved out of the way of the Coup de Grace. Balor kicked out of a Pump Handle Driver. Penta then hit the Mexican Destroyer on Balor and pinned him.

Winner: Penta

Michael Cole announced that Sheamus is injured and is out of the Last Time is Now tournament. Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis are meeting to determine who will fill his spot.

Backstage:

Solo Sikoa, with the MFTs standing in the background, said Sami Zayn and his team doesn’t stand a chance against them next week on SmackDown.

Women’s WarGames teams complete:

Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, IYO SKY, and Rhea Ripley came to the ring to announce the fifth members of their WarGames team. Rhea said she can trust Charlotte, Alexa, and IYO. She then announced AJ Lee as the fifth member of her team.

As AJ’s music played, The Kabuki Warriors, Nia Jax, and Lash Legend attacked them. As AJ came to the ring, Becky Lynch gave her a shoulder block which knocked her to the ground. Becky got in the ring and shook hands with Asuka indicating she is the fifth member of their team.
