WWE SmackDown Returning To Two Hours Soon

WWE SmackDown will soon revert to its traditional two-hour broadcast, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. The report indicates ongoing discussions regarding the specific timing for this potential format change.

Meltzer noted that while a target date has been considered, it remains tentative. “There has been talk that Smackdown goes back to two hours on 6/6 [June 6, 2025], but that is not a hard date,” he wrote. Meltzer also mentioned a previous timeframe that was considered, adding, “It was expected at the end of May would be the move back.”

WWE officials are still determining the exact date for the potential shift back to a two-hour show. Meltzer noted, “Company sources say the date isn’t etched in stone but they expect it will be finalized this week.”

WWE SmackDown went to three hours in January when it shifted to the USA Network.
