Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens will wrestle one more time but this time the stakes are bigger than ever.
Towards the end of this week’s episode of WWE SmackDown Live, Kevin Owens proposed for one more match where if he loses then he will be gone forever and Shane will not have to worry about the wrongful termination lawsuit.
However, if Kevin wins then Shane must leave WWE. When the match occurs, there will be a briefcase suspended in the ring and it will be a ladder match.
WWE has not said yet if the match will take place at the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view or on the first Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.
In July, we exclusively reported here on WrestlingNews.co that plan for the Kevin Owens-Shane McMahon storyline is for McMahon to eventually be phased out from WWE TV. I was told several times over the last couple of months that this was still the plan.
I was told that the feud will end with Owens winning and McMahon no longer being involved as an authority figure because WWE is going to present a more sports-like product with more conclusive finishes and less interference from non-wrestling characters.
