WWE Star ‘Banged Up’ After SmackDown Match

Giulia was left dealing with pain following her SmackDown appearance last Friday, with her personal trainer revealing the WWE Women’s United States Champion needed a completely overhauled workout session the following day due to the physical toll of her match against Tiffany Stratton.

Matthew Ennis, Giulia’s trainer, shared the details in an Instagram post that has since been deleted. He was careful to note no specific injury that would impact Giulia going forward, framing the situation as post-match soreness rather than a targeted injury.

“Giulia came into her session today very banged up from her match last Friday on SmackDown,” Ennis said. “Normally, this would be our full lower body day, but today was not a good day for that because she was in so much pain. Low back pain, knee pain, hip pain, shoulders, you name it.”

Ennis said the team made a decision to adapt on the fly rather than push through discomfort that could have made things worse. “So instead of sticking to a rigid plan, we adapted today on the fly, and the goal is just simply to have her walk out of the gym feeling better,” Ennis said. “Thankfully, through a full body, activation, mobility, stretching circuit, we were able to achieve that goal. And now we’ll be more prepared to push harder tomorrow, and that’s a big thing for pro wrestlers. Depending on how your body feels, you may need to adjust the workout for the day.”

Giulia and Stratton met in a non-title bout on the March 27 edition of SmackDown, with a slight distraction from Kiana James helping Giulia secure the victory by getting her knees up on a Stratton moonsault attempt and cradling her for the pin.

Whether the two will meet again at WrestleMania 42 remains unclear. Stratton addressed the speculation in a recent interview with The Schmo. “Yeah, I have heard those rumors too, and I feel like they’re just rumors because I haven’t really been told anything that I’m on WrestleMania,” Stratton said. “But we’ll have to wait and see. I hope there’s a championship involved.”

WrestleMania 42 takes place April 18 and 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
