WWE star changes ring name ahead of NXT return

Brendan Vink is headed back to WWE NXT after a brief stint on the main roster.

He had been on the Raw brand for a few months earlier this year, but is now moving back to NXT and will be doing so with a new name. He’ll now be going by Tony Modra.

This comes after WWE filed to trademark the name on October 20. Vink announced the news in a post on Twitter by writing the following:

Vink had been teaming up with Shane Thorne on television. They hadn’t been seen on television since May after beating Cedric Alexander and Ricochet. While they were sent back to NXT in July, they hadn’t done anything on television and then Throne was turned into Slapjack as part of the Retribution group.

As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when he’ll be back in action on NXT TV.
