WWE Star To Get Big Push Soon?

WWE SmackDown co-lead writer, “Road Dogg” Brian James, has offered some high praise for a member of the SmackDown roster, Rey Fenix. The WWE executive suggested that championship success for Fenix is coming “soon.”

The interaction began after Fenix competed in a United States Championship match against the champion, Sami Zayn, on the last episode of Friday Night SmackDown. While he was unsuccessful in winning the title, his performance was a standout one that had fans talking. Following the match, Fenix took to his X account to share his belief he will be a champion one.

“Last Friday I took the opportunity in the open challenge to face the United States Champion Sami Zayn. I didn’t win the match but it was a great match and I’m very happy with my work that night, soon i will be a @wwe Champion! I’m ready for the big challenges! #AN1M0,” Fenix wrote.

The post caught the attention of “Road Dogg” Brian James, who responded with a simple message. “Rey Fenix is right! Soon!” he wrote in reply. The public endorsement from James has fans thinking a push may be coming for Fenix soon.

Fenix has been in a state of flux in recent weeks. His tag team partner, Andrade, was recently released from his WWE contract due to disciplinary issues, which left Fenix’s own future on the brand in question. Fenix and his brother, Penta, both signed with WWE earlier this year after their contracts with AEW expired.

While the original plan was for them to be a tag team, their contracts ended at different times, which has kept them apart on WWE television so far. While a reunion is still likely in the future, it appears that for now, Rey Fenix is set to make his mark as a singles star on the blue brand.
