According to a report from PWInsiderElite.com, Chad Gable is expected to be at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida, this week. The report notes that the purpose of the visit is to “work towards his return to the ring” following major shoulder surgery.
Gable has been out of action since undergoing the procedure this past July in Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to his hiatus, he had been portraying the masked character El Grande Americano on Raw, a persona that allowed him to capture the WWE Speed Championship. His absence was explained on television following a backstage attack by Penta, which was used to write him off for the surgery.
In Gable’s absence, the El Grande Americano character has remained a fixture on WWE television. It was reported in June that Ludwig Kaiser had taken over the role under the mask while Gable recovered. Gable’s stable, American Made, which includes The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile, has continued to feature in storylines on the red brand.
The El Grande Americano character was most recently in action on the November 3 episode of Monday Night Raw, where he suffered a loss to Penta. WWE is currently building toward its next Premium Live Event, Survivor Series: WarGames, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, November 29, at Petco Park in San Diego, California.
