WWE star going back to a previous gimmick?

Xia Li may have teased going back to a gimmick that fans have seen before.

In the last seconds of a video she posted on Twitter, she teased the return of the Tian Sha gimmick she had been part of in NXT as there were moments of a woman having the facepaint on.

Li signed with WWE in 2017 where she worked the Mae Young Classic tournament that year and in 2018. Li worked the women’s Royal Rumble match in 2019 before making her NXT TV debut a few months later.

In November 2020, she was featured in a vignette with Boa where they were driven to an unknown location. They were later punished by a mysterious woman who Mei Ying (the now Wendy Choo) portrayed. They made their debut as a group in January 2021 and by June, they were feuding with Mercedes Martinez. They finished the feud at the In Your House event before Li was drafted to SmackDown in October, separating her from Boa and Ying.

Since then, she’s worked only live events and dark matches except for a one-time appearance on television with a win over Natalya on February 2.
