Rey Mysterio says he and Dominik have talked about Dominik continuing the family name and a new mask and gear have been made for the Prince Mysterio character.
WrestlingNews.co reported in 2018 that Rey trademarked the name Principe Mysterio (Prince Mysterio) back when Dominik was training at Lance Storm’s school in Calgary, Canada.
“We actually talked about it. He definitely has to continue with the Mysterio dynasty. It’s in his genes,” Rey told ESPN. “I think we’re going to incorporate that eventually and create a good story so the fans can understand the rich history behind lucha libre and the masks.”
Dominik says he’s always wanted to wear a mask to keep the tradition going but since fans have already seen his face on WWE TV, he feels that the mask will have to be introduced in a different way so people can understand why he’s wearing it.
Dominik said, “I definitely want to wear one, but it has to be introduced properly.”
Dominik Mysterio will step into the ring for his first WWE match this Sunday night at SummerSlam.
