On this week’s episode of Smackdown Live, WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Naomi revealed that she was injured during her match with Alexa Bliss at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. It’s not clear what the nature of her injury is but it doesn’t seem to be anything that will keep her out of action for an extended length of time.
Naomi noted that she didn’t notice anything wrong until she got backstage after her match. They are teasing a Naomi vs. Alexa Bliss rematch for the title on a future episode of Smackdown Live and Naomi has to decide by next week if she will grant the rematch. It looks like they are just waiting things out to make sure she is ready before they officially announce the match.
I should note that there are results going around online that say that Naomi, Nikki Bella and Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss, Natalya, and Carmella at the house show in Oakland on Monday night. Actually, Naomi did not wrestle and the match was changed to a handicap match so that would point to a legitimate (not storyline) injury.
