WWE is slated to send one of its stars back to Pro Wrestling NOAH for the second straight year.
In January 2023, Shinsuke Nakamura made a return to the Japanese wrestling promotion Pro Wrestling NOAH, where he wrestled The Great Muta at the Pro Wrestling NOAH The New Year event from the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo, Japan. The match was part of Muta’s farewell tour.
Nakamura made a stunning entrance at the event, using his WWE theme music while wearing new attire. Nakamura won the match after a hard-fought battle.
This was Nakamura’s first non-WWE wrestling event since signing with the company in 2016. At the time, it was rare for the company to do so. Since then, WWE has let talent work with other promotions with which they’ve negotiated.
It was announced today that Nakamura will wrestle Ulka Sasaki on January 1, 2025. Nakamura hasn’t worked a TV match since April 22nd, when he put over Sheamus on WWE Raw.
