WWE star medically cleared after concerning issue

There was something going on with WWE NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and the company stayed quiet regarding her status following the angle on the March 7th episode of NXT when she passed out after her match with Meiko Satomura.

She was put into an ambulance and in storyline, taken to the hospital. It was similar to the Shawn Michaels angle in the 1990s on an episode of WWE Raw.

Last week, it was announced that Perez might be stripped of the title, and there would be a ladder match for the NXT Women’s Championship at Stand & Deliver. They had a doctor state on the NXT broadcast that after doing tests, they don’t know what is wrong with her. Qualifying matches to determine the participants also started last week.

While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that Perez is now medically cleared to compete after whatever was going on with Perez and she might be back on television as soon as on tonight’s show.

“So she is okay, cleared, and will be worked back into storylines as soon as I mean probably starting on (tonight’s) show. Somehow they’re gonna get her back in the mix. Whatever the issue was, they got a good thing, a good report. It’s not an injury, but it’s just a situation that could have kept her out and that’s why they did the thing as kind of like a backup thing, and everything’s cool. From what I was told today, they’re gonna start working her back in,” Meltzer stated.
