On tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown, Kayla Braxton interviewed New Day members Kofi Kingston and former WWE Champion Big E.
As she introduced Big E, Braxton asked him what it was like to “officially” be back on Friday Night SmackDown. The word “officially” was also said on WWE’s social media accounts, which means that he has been moved back from Raw once again.
Big E and Kingston faced Happy Corbin and Madacap Moss in a tag team match. The New Day members won the match after hitting the Midnight Hour finisher.
It’s unclear if this is part of a trade and it’s unclear why it was decided that he should be back on the blue brand so soon after the group was broken up in the WWE Draft in October. The way Big E was booked on SmackDown, it looks like he is no longer going to be part of the title picture and he will be wrestling in tag team matches again.
Big E lost the WWE Championship at the Day 1 pay-per-view in a Fatal 5 Way match that saw Brock Lesnar walk out as the new champion. As is always the case in WWE, plans can always change and it appears that they have backed off from the idea that Big E needs to be split from Woods and Kingston. Woods is currently out with a calf injury but his return is imminent.
