WWE Star Provides Update After Successful Surgery

WWE NXT Superstar Ridge Holland has posted a video to social media, providing his first update since undergoing surgery for a foot injury. Holland, who was injured during a match for TNA Wrestling as part of the ongoing crossover storyline, appeared to be in good spirits as he began his recovery. He acknowledged the frustrations of his “bumpy ride” in the wrestling business but maintained a positive and determined attitude, vowing to come back in the “best shape of my life” and to use this latest setback as a life lesson for his children.

In the video, which was posted on Saturday, Holland shared his post-surgery status. “So I just want to give a bit of an update on the recovery. I’m just here with the family at the Caribbean Royal Resort, taking away for the weekend. Get them out of the house. Sat here in the hotel room with my laptop and my foot up while they’re at the pool so I could do some checking day for my online coaching. If you want online coaching, hit me up.

So foots kind of recovering pretty well. Hopefully, I can get back into the gym [on] Monday. I get the cast put on. Thursday, I think I’ll be in that probably for three weeks, and then we can start weight bearing. But yeah, the main thing is, the main positive is, I can get back into the gym Monday, because I’ve been going absolutely crazy. So yeah, keep an eye out for more updates and speak to you soon.”

The injury occurred at a TNA television taping in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, during a match against Moose. Holland landed awkwardly on his left leg, and the match was immediately stopped. He was helped to the back without being able to put any weight on his leg.

He later confirmed on social media that he had suffered a Lisfranc injury, a complex and serious injury to the mid-foot that often requires a lengthy recovery period of six months to a year. The surgery took place this past Friday. Before the injury, Holland was a key figure in the TNA vs. NXT storyline. He had a hard-hitting match against Mike Santana at the TNA Victory Road event and was positioned as a dominant enforcer for the invading NXT brand.
