Andrade El Idolo recently took to social media to address and dismiss a speculative and unfounded post suggesting his involvement in illicit activities. The rumor originated from a user on X.
On October 21, user Ant (@vagoni256) posted a message implying Andrade might be connected to criminal organizations. “Gonna be wild for me to say this. This is allegedly coming from me But is it crazy to think Andrade may be involved in some mexican cartel business or nationwide crime scheme. Something big is going on here,” the user wrote.
Andrade quickly responded to the baseless speculation later the same day. Quoting the original post, Andrade wrote, “What?? Tranquilo amigo!!”. He followed up with a direct plea, adding, “Will everyone please stop making things up?!”.
The interaction highlights the sometimes-unfounded speculation wrestlers face on social media platforms. Andrade’s direct denial aimed to shut down the rumor before it could gain traction among fans online.
This social media exchange occurs during a period of significant professional uncertainty for Andrade. He made a surprise return to All Elite Wrestling on the October 1, 2025, sixth-anniversary episode of Dynamite. During his appearance, he attacked Kenny Omega and aligned himself with the Don Callis Family, positioning himself as a heel character in the promotion.
However, his return was short-lived. Just over two weeks later, on October 16, Andrade had been removed from AEW television programming and creative plans. According to various reports, this action followed a cease-and-desist letter sent by WWE to AEW.
The letter reportedly claimed that Andrade’s appearance on AEW Dynamite violated a non-compete clause that became effective upon his termination from WWE. The potential repercussions for violating such a clause could be severe, with the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer noting that Andrade might be legally prevented from competing in the ring for up to a year.
This complex situation involving alleged contractual obligations between Andrade, WWE, and AEW adds another layer to his recent public activity. While dealing with unfounded social media rumors, Andrade is simultaneously navigating a significant professional challenge stemming from his recent appearances and reported contract status.
