WWE star Chelsea Green has spoken out about the future of her faction, the Secret Hervice, following a serious injury to member Piper Niven. Niven has been out of action since August, reducing the group to just Green and Alba Fyre on television. In recent weeks, Green has been posting on social media about her search for a new member, leading to fan speculation that she is looking to replace the sidelined Niven permanently.
Not a Replacement
Speaking in an interview with Woman’s World, Green clarified her intentions, stating that she is not looking to replace Piper Niven in the group. She acknowledged the need to continue the storyline in Niven’s absence but stressed Niven’s importance to the faction.
“Piper is so valuable to us. We’re not just replacing her, but the show goes on. This is Hollywood, baby!” Green also explained her strategy of using social media to build storylines, saying, “And I love to start a storyline on social media and plant the seed, because then the writers can gauge reactions and maybe bring it into their creative meetings.”
Supporting Piper Niven
Green also discussed how she has been supporting Niven during her recovery process, drawing from her own experiences with injury. “We have all watched each other go through injuries. The girls took care of me when I broke my collarbone in India almost 10 years ago. They washed my hair, packed my bags, took me to the airport, got me on a plane home,” she said.
“Now it’s my turn to make sure that Piper is okay – more so mentally. There’s not much I can do physically, but I want to make sure that as she takes that step back, she realizes this is the time to rest, recover, brainstorm new ideas, start a new hobby, and not get in her head. Because, trust me, we get in our heads!”
The “Real” Leader
During the interview, Green also gave some insight into the dynamics of the Secret Hervice. Despite her on-screen persona, she said she is not the “real” leader of the group, giving credit to her stablemates. “Everyone looks at me like I’m the leader, but we know within the group that this is all make-believe. I’m not the real leader, and that’s fun,” Green explained.
“It also helps that Piper and Alba are my friends, and we have mutual respect for each other. They are also way more advanced in wrestling than I am!” She also credited Maria Kanellis, under whom she was in a stable earlier in her career, for setting the tone for how she leads her own group in WWE.
