WWE star ruled out as Roman Reigns’ Hell in a Cell opponent

WWE is getting closer to its Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event, but only one match has been announced for the show thus far.

We do know that Bobby Lashley will be defending the WWE Title at this show against the winner of the Drew McIntyre vs. Kofi Kingston match on next week’s episode of Raw.

WWE has already confirmed Raw Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley vs. Charlotte Flair for the show. There have also been hints of a Seth Rollins vs. Cesaro match.

Dave Meltzer reported in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that while Universal Champion Roman Reigns has had storyline issues with Jimmy Uso as of late, he was told WWE doesn’t have Reigns vs. Uso scheduled for the show. Thus, Jimmy is ruled out as Reigns’ possible opponent and fans will have to wait find out the direction WWE has plans for “The Big Dog” at this upcoming event.

The company has discussed a big match for Reigns at this year’s SummerSlam though. WWE holds the Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event on Sunday, June 20, 2021 from Tampa, Florida at Yuengling Center, which will air on Peacock.
