WWE Star Says She Is Actively Trying To Get AJ Lee To Return

A current WWE star is making it her mission to see a former Divas Champion return to the ring. Roxanne Perez has publicly stated that she is actively trying to make a dream match against AJ Lee a reality.

Roxanne Perez Wants Her Dream Match With AJ Lee

Speaking with WWE Español, the current WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion revealed that her number one dream opponent is AJ Lee. Perez made it clear she is campaigning for Lee’s return, alluding to using her connection to Lee’s husband, CM Punk, to make it happen.

“That would have to be Roxanne Perez – The Prodigy – versus AJ Lee,” Perez said when asked about her dream match. “I’m gonna keep trying until she gets back over here. I know someone who knows someone, but I’m still trying, I’m still trying.”

Speculation On A Potential In-Ring Return

AJ Lee has not wrestled a match since she retired from in-ring competition in March 2015. However, speculation among WWE fans about a potential comeback has grown substantially ever since CM Punk made his own return to the company at Survivor Series in 2023. While Lee has not publicly expressed a desire to wrestle again, Perez is hopeful she can change her mind.

Perez is currently one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions alongside her partner, Raquel Rodriguez. They are set to defend their titles this weekend at the all-women’s Evolution 2 premium live event in a four-way match against the teams of Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, Asuka & Kairi Sane, and Sol Ruca & Zaria.
