Zoey Stark has shared a significant update on her recovery, revealing that she is finally able to run without pain nearly six months after sustaining a severe knee injury. The WWE Superstar has been sidelined since May following a match on Monday Night Raw where she suffered damage to her ACL, MCL, and meniscus. In a new social media post, Stark shared a video of herself performing speed drills, marking a major milestone in her rehabilitation.
Stark wrote: “6 months in and finally able to fully run and pivot pain-free. It took some time to get there but we got there.”
The injury took place during the May 19 episode of Raw in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match against Kairi Sane and Rhea Ripley. Stark landed awkwardly while attempting a springboard dropkick, causing her knee to buckle. She was immediately removed from the match, which continued as a singles contest between Sane and Ripley. The injury required reconstructive surgery, halting the momentum of the rising star who had been a fixture in the women’s division.
Earlier in her recovery, Stark opened up about the mental and physical toll the injury had taken on her. She admitted that the process was “exhausting” and expressed frustration with her knee’s limited range of motion at the time.
Stark shared: “It’s been both mentally and physically exhausting and frustrating. And I’m in a spot right now with my knee where is not wanting to bend and give me the full range of motion that I am looking for. And as much as that sucks, it’s okay.”
Avoiding A Second Surgery
Stark also revealed that she faced a potential setback during her rehab. Doctors had concerned that she might require a second procedure—a scope to clean out scar tissue in her knee—if her range of motion did not improve. Fortunately, Stark was able to avoid this additional surgery, which would have reset her recovery timeline.
She stated: “I will push through this. I will find a way around it. I’ll get to where I need to get. But boy is it frustrating. But there’s always a silver lining and a dark cloud, right? So there’s a couple things I’m happy for.”
Despite the positive update and the video showing her performing explosive running drills, there is still no official timetable for Zoey Stark’s return to WWE television. Multi-ligament knee injuries typically require a recovery period of nine to twelve months, potentially placing her return sometime in 2026.
