In a year when WWE has signed many talents to contracts while also being unable to retain others, they’ve locked down one former champion to a new deal.
That star is Asuka, who has been sidelined with an injury. She had an injury scare in March during the closing moments of an episode of SmackDownas Asuka seemed to have a leg injury in the main event segment where Damage CTRL beatdown Bayley. Check out the footage of Asuka limping here.
Asuka pushed through in matches such as losing the WWE Women’s Tag Team titles to Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill at Backlash France. She later announced taking a break due to a knee injury.
She later revealed having surgery in a YouTube video as she shared a video of her walking into the hospital. Asuka noted that aside from prep, the surgery lasted 90 minutes before she was discharged from the hospital the day after her surgery and wasn’t able to walk on her own.
PWInsider.com Asuika has signed a new long-term deal with the company. According to the report, she recently inked the deal, although the terms, including length and financial details, were not disclosed.
We wish her a speedy recovery.
