Last year it was reported that WWE offered several wrestlers new contracts, but they hadn’t signed the deals. The belief at the time was to wait and see how the world progressed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fightful Select reported today that Chelsea Green signed a new three-year deal with the company. She has been sidelined since last November as she suffered a wrist injury that resulted in her undergoing surgery.
She made her SmackDown debut by working a Fatal 4-Way Qualifying Match for the opportunity to qualify for the SmackDown Women’s Survivor Series Team. She has yet to make her return to in-ring action, but she’s been working out at the Performance Center.
Per the report, she signed the contract at some point since suffering the injury. Her original contract was set to expire in the Summer.
Before she made her main roster debut, some within the company wanted to bring her up from NXT as there were several pitches among the creative team, but those ideas weren’t used.
