Following the news of releases and furloughs in WWE, it looks like one WWE NXT star plans on retiring….or at least hinting at going back to his old name.
Kassius Ohno posted a black and white photo of his boots in an empty ring on Sunday night and the tweet has people speculating that he may be done.
As previously noted, Ohno is one of the names that were part of the furloughs/layoffs at WWE but it has not been made clear if he has outright been released.
The photo also does not make it clear if Ohno is simply retiring the name and going back to the name Chris Hero (which seems more likely since he is only 40 years old) or if he is done as an active in-ring performer. Ohno had been wrestling on NXT UK in recent months and some NXT US live events.
If Ohno has indeed been released and not furloughed, then he would likely have a non-compete before he can go elsewhere but he is someone that is well-liked and respected for his wrestling knowledge so he will likely get job offers from several places.
