WWE star to have his Royal Rumble match streak end this Sunday

This year’s Men’s Royal Rumble Match is getting closer to being finalized ahead of Sunday’s pay-per-view event from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida.

So far, WWE has confirmed the following names to compete in the match: Daniel Bryan, WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Otis, The Miz, Jey Uso, Cesaro, Jeff Hardy, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sami Zayn, SmackDown Tag Team Champion Dolph Ziggler, WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E, Sheamus, John Morrison, Edge, Elias, and Mustafa Ali. There are 12 spots still available for the show.

However, one familiar face will not be competing in the match, which is Kofi Kingston. He had worked 11 straight Royal Rumble matches (2009-2020), but that streak will come to an end, according to CageMatch.

Kingston is currently out of action due to a legitimate jaw injury, which he suffered a few weeks ago. There’s no word yet on when he’ll be cleared to return to in-ring action.

The former WWE Champion is known to be one of the highlights of the match as he has found creative ways to save himself from elimination whether that’s walking on his hands, jumping to barricades or steel steps, and other memorable spots.
