Former WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James is slated to undergo surgery for a torn ACL. She confirmed the news when doing an Instagram Live today.
The injury happened at Saturday’s WWE live event in Waco, Texas where she suffered a loss to Carmella in a singles match. The contest ended abruptly after James went down.
F4Wonline.com confirmed that Mickie was injured during the match and later reported that she was out of action with a knee injury as it was listed on WWE’s internal injury report the next night where she was replaced by Zelina Vega.
During Instagram Live, she noted that she underwent an MRI this week, which is when it was determined that she suffered an ACL injury.
“I don’t know how long I’m gonna be out. I don’t know when I’m gonna have to get surgery, but it’s gonna be awhile,” Mickie stated in the video. (H/T Pro Wrestling Sheet)
As of this writing, there’s no word yet on when Mickie will be back in action. We wish the future WWE Hall of Famer a speedy recovery.
