It looks like SmackDown Live is going to be short a Superstar for a lengthy period of time.
As we’ve previously noted, one-half of the SmackDown Live Tag Team Champions, Eric Rowan, suffered an injury during The Bludgeon Brother’s match with The New Day at SummerSlam on Sunday. Rowan didn’t work WWE’s live event in Atlantic City, New Jersey as he was getting evaluated. Instead, his tag team partner, Luke Harper, worked a singles match against Karl Anderson, which he lost.
PWInsider is reporting that Rowan will be traveling to Birmingham, Alabama later this week to undergo surgery for a torn bicep. The Bludgeon Brothers are scheduled to defend their titles tonight against The New Day on SmackDown Live. The match is a No Disqualification match. Many are expecting the titles to change hands due to the news of Rowan’s injury. Rowan is also confirmed to being backstage for tonight’s show.
