As noted earlier in the WWE Monday Night Raw spoilers, a six-man tag team match headlined the show in Manchester.
After attacking Rusev last Monday night, it looks like Randy Orton has turned babyface.
During a backstage segment at the tapings in Manchester, England, Ricochet and Humberto Carrillo were confronted by Randy Orton and they were told to find a tag team partner. Surprisingly, Orton was the person who stepped up to team up with the babyfaces.
It seemed like this was the set up for Orton to turn on his teammates but he never did and Carrillo got the win over Styles to close out the show. However, there was some tension between Orton and Ricochet.
WWE has yet to announce a traditional elimination match for the Survivor Series pay-per-view so it’s possible this is leading to Orton and Ricochet being on the same side on a team at the pay-per-view and the babyface turn could be a short-term thing.
For what it’s worth, WWE teased a babyface turn for Orton last month when he appeared in a dark segment on 205 Live with Kevin Owens.
They took out Tony Nese, Drew Gulak and Mike Kanellis with Orton hitting Kanellis with the RKO and Owens delivering a Stunner.
Now that Orton has signed a new 5-year deal to stay with the company, he will probably get a big push. Dave Meltzer noted this week that there are plans for an Orton vs. Ricochet feud. This would indicate that his babyface turn is temporary and a turn is coming.
