WWE star was supposed to turn heel on Ronda Rousey but plans were dropped

Plans always change in WWE. Sometimes it’s because Vince McMahon simply felt like shaking things up and other times circumstances force them to change course.

The Ronda Rousey/Natalya friendship was supposed to lead to Natalya turning heel on Rousey, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. That plan was dropped weeks ago when Jim “The Anvil” Neidhart passed away.

The feeling was that they couldn’t turn Natalya heel anymore so they decided to go back to Nia Jax/Rousey, someone who Rousey had beaten before.

For those of you wondering about plans for Jax, the idea is that her feud with Rousey is just a short-term thing and Rousey will move on to her next feud in January.

Here is the updated card for WWE TLC, taking place at the SAP Center in San Jose on 12/16:

WWE Championship
Daniel Bryan (Champion) vs. AJ Styles

Raw Women’s Championship
Ronda Rousey (Champion) vs. Nia Jax

Intercontinental Championship
Seth Rollins (Champion) vs. Dean Ambrose

Tables, Ladders, and Chairs Match
If Strowman wins, he gets Lesnar at Royal Rumble.
If Corbin wins, he becomes permanent Raw GM
Braun Strowman vs. Baron Corbin

The finals of the Mixed Match Challenge tournament
