WWE star was waiting to make SmackDown debut before being released



Santana Garrett was among the names to be released by WWE today. 

It turns out that before WWE officials made the decision to release her, they actually had plans for her to be called up to the main roster from NXT and make her debut on SmackDown. 

This was speculated about among fans this past March as Garrett posted a photo of herself from backstage at SmackDown.

Recommended Articles reported after the news of her release that Garrett had been planned to move to the main roster but never actually debuted as she had been waiting for her official debut to actually be worked into the storylines.

Garrett made her first appearance on WWE TV in 2013 by working an NXT TV taping. In 2016, she started making more NXT appearances as an enhancement talent and then worked the Mae Young Classic in 2017. She signed with WWE in 2019.
