WWE Starrcade results: Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley swerve, Ric Flair, and more

WWE held Starrcade 2019 at the Infinite Energy Arena in Duluth, Georgia. Among the matches advertised for the show was Rusev taking on Bobby Lashley but they swerved the fans by not actually presenting the advertised match.

Here is everything that aired on the WWE Network….

They did a Kevin Owens Show segment with Ric Flair as the guest. Flair talked about some of the previous Starrcade’s from the past that included names like Dusty Rhodes, Sting, and Harley Race. His mic was not working so the fans chanted “we can’t hear you” so KO gave Flair his microphone. Flair said that even though some guys don’t get along, everyone in the business is family. He put over Starrcade as Dusty Rhodes’ creation since he came up with the name. Flair then put over the 30 wrestlers backstage. Owens then praised Flair and said he wanted a “wooo” from the Nature Boy. Just as Flair was giving his “woooo,” he was interrupted by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows. The Street Profits came out and a match was made.

The finish was Ford hitting the Frog Splash on Anderson to win the match for his team. Flair celebrated with The Street Profits.

There was a backstage segment with Sasha Banks and Bayley. Bayley said she wants to go out there and do what they do and get the hell out of town. Banks said she and Bayley will become double champions.

In a Fatal 4-Way Tag Team Championship match, The Kabuki Warriors defeated Bayley & Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch, and Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross. There were some close near falls in this one with some big moves towards the end. The finish was Asuka missing a kick and almost getting pinned by Cross with a roll up. Asuka countered into the Asuka Lock to get Cross to submit.

There was supposed to be a Last Man Standing Match between Bobby Lashley and Rusev. Lana and Lashley walked out to the ring. Lana told the fans that she has a hot boyfriend for the holiday season and Rusev never appreciated her. She also said that there would be no Last Man Standing Match because she filed a restraining order in a Georgia court so Lashley would gladly take the win via forfeit. Just as the referee raised Lashley’s hand, Kevin Owens ran out and said no one cares about the Lashley-Lana relationship and pointed out that Lana no longer has a Russian accent. This all led to a match.

Bobby Lashley vs. Kevin Owens ended in a DQ when Lana brought a chair into the ring and Rusev ran in to attack Lashley. They brawled around ringside and then Lashley got the upper hand by shoving him into the steel steps. Then, back in the ring, Lashley used a kendo stick but Rusev grabbed it and used it on Lashley several times. Rusev also attacked with a chair and the machka kick. So, this match ended similar to how their other recent house show matches have ended.
