WWE Star’s Contract To Expire This Weekend

Another WWE talent is slated to become a free agent, following in the footsteps of someone close to him.

News broke a few weeks ago that Bobby Lashley and MVP’s decision to leave WWE was based on the expectation that they’re AEW-bound to reform The Hurt Business with Shelton Benjamin. The group won’t be complete, as Cedric Alexander remains under contract with WWE

MVP became a free agent last week. For Lashley, WWE made him an offer, but it wasn’t one that immediately made him “jump to sign,” as described by one source via PWInsider.com. Lashley last wrestled in May.

Fightful Select reported today that Lashley’s deal is up this coming weekend. Those they spoke with last weekend were under the belief that Lashley was leaving WWE and that there were no creative plans for him in the company. Since word broke about his deal, there have been discussions about him backstage in AEW, although AEW has yet to make an offer to him since he’s still under contract with WWE.

Those close to him have said Lashley is also interested in fighting again and believe he will at least make an appearance in AEW. He’s also ready to make his return to TV.
