Fans have criticized WWE theme songs by Def Rebel for the generic sound that they have to the point that they have called for Def Rebel’s jobs and want someone else to produce the music for WWE stars. The Royal Rumble was a perfect example of that. For fans, many of the stars who came out had unidentifiable music, which led to delayed reactions.
Fightful Select reports that several talents in WWE they spoke with felt the same way. No talent that Fightful spoke with has interacted with Def Rebel producers for input on their songs, and they were told by the talent that several have expressed unhappiness with the quality of music to the point that they try to get their old songs back.
WWE made requests to change several themes that the talent vehemently pushed back on, with some stars being able to keep their themes while others couldn’t.
It was added, “Very few people on the roster that we’ve heard from are happy with the Def Rebel themes. A number of incoming talent also preferred to bring their own themes with them.”
