WWE Raw superstar Kiana James is close to returning to the ring after being sidelined with an injury for the past year. The update on her status was reported by Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
James has been out of action since June 2024. Her last match was on the June 17, 2024, episode of Monday Night Raw, where she competed in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match against IYO SKY and Zelina Vega. Shortly after that appearance, she suffered a significant leg injury that required surgery and an extensive rehabilitation period.
The injury came at an unfortunate time for James, who had just been drafted to Raw from NXT in April 2024. Before the injury, she had made her main roster debut with a victory over Natalya, signaling a promising start. However, the injury abruptly halted her momentum.
In September 2024, reports confirmed James was dealing with a leg injury and had been moved to WWE’s internal miscellaneous roster list, which is common for talent out with injuries. At the time, her recovery was expected to take at least six months.
