WWE Still Planning To Hold A Draft This Year?

According to a report from Cory Hays and Viper of BodySlam.net, the annual WWE Draft, which reshuffles the rosters for RAW and SmackDown, is reportedly being considered for a new date later in the year.

Traditionally held in the spring following WrestleMania, the 2025 draft may be moved to the fall.

“The last I heard about the WWE draft was that they have been considering doing it post-SummerSlam, most likely as a tie-in to the season premiere episodes in September,” the report states.

This change would allow current major storylines to conclude over the summer. A post-SummerSlam draft, taking place after the August 2-3 premium live event, would then serve as a major reset for the company heading into the fall television season.

The report notes there hasn’t been a significant need to reshuffle the rosters recently due to ongoing stories and recent call-ups from NXT. It confirms that while the exact timing is yet to be determined, a draft to kick off the new “season” is very likely.
