Kickoff Show

WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Tony Nese (Champion) vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Drew Gulak

This match was awesome. Fans seemed into most of what they did because they worked so hard and there were tons of near falls. At one point, they got a nice ovation from the fans. The finish was Gulak hitting the torture rack neckbreaker on Tozawa. So, he wins the title but he did not pin Nese so that feud will likely continue.

Main Card

WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Becky Lynch (Champion) vs. Lacey Evans

Lynch won the match by forcing Evans to tap out to the Disarm Her submission. The announcers then pointed out that Seth Rollins has a big night when he defends his title in the main event.

Backstage, Paul Heyman was interviewed after he walked out of Baron Corbin’s locker room. Corbin walked out and said that he will choose a referee who will call things down the middle. If necessary, he will deal with Brock Lesnar after he wins the title.

The New Day (Big E and Xavier Woods) vs. Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn

The match kicked off with Big E being taken out and Owens and Zayn furiously beating on Woods. There were some near falls but Woods was able to stay alive in the match. Big E was finally able to make the hot tag after Woods took a beating for several minutes. Very good match. Big E took himself out when he speared Zayn out of the ring. Owens won the match for his team by pinning Woods after hitting the Stone Cold Stunner. It was a clean win for the heels.

Backstage segment: Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross talk about Bliss’ upcoming match with Bayley. Nikki says she hopes people are starting to see Bayley for who she really is. Nikki can’t wait to be in Alexa’s corner tonight.

WWE United States Championship
Samoa Joe (Champion) vs. Ricochet

This was an awesome match but it should have gone a little longer. Ricochet won the United States Championship after hitting the code breaker and then hitting the 630 off the top rope. After the match, wrestlers clapped and congratulated Ricochet when he got backstage.

WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship
Daniel Bryan and Rowan (Champions) vs. Heavy Machinery

Bryan got a hometown babyface reaction for everything because he’s from the same state. Heavy Machinery was about to win the match with the compactor on Rowan but Bryan broke it up. Tucker Knight took out Rowan at ringside. Tucker got back in the ring but Bryan rolled him up and pinned him to retain the titles.

WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship
Bayley (Champion) vs. Alexa Bliss

In the last couple of minutes of the match, Bayley took out Cross at ringside. Cross tried to get in the ring to attack Bayley but the referee stepped in. This allowed Bayley to recover as Bliss tried to hit Twisted Bliss. Bayley got the knees up and hit the Bayley to belly to get the pin and retain her title.

Backstage, Ricochet was taking photos with the U.S. Championship. Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and AJ Styles stepped in. Styles said he would see Ricochet tomorrow night on Raw.

Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre

This was a hard-hitting match with interference from Shane McMahon. Shane hit a coast-to-coast dropkick on Reigns but Reigns was still able to kick out of McIntyre’s pin attempt. In the end, Reigns finally dumped McMahon over the top rope and then speared McIntyre to get the pin. The announcers indicated that this was the end of the feud so it looks like Reigns will move onto another opponent. We’ll see if that is the case on Raw.

WWE Championship – Steel Cage Match
Kofi Kingston (Champion) vs. Dolph Ziggler

Kofi retained the title as Dolph was trying to crawl through the door of the cage. Kofi won the match after he dove through the ropes. Kofi celebrated at ringside with Xavier Woods and Big E.

Backstage, Shane McMahon said Reigns would have to wrestle in a handicap match on Monday Night Raw. It will be Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre vs. Roman Reigns tomorrow night.

WWE Universal Championship – special referee: TBA
Seth Rollins (Champion) vs. Baron Corbin

Corbin had the odds stacked against Rollins because referee Lacey Evans was slow to make counts and she decided to add a No DQ and No Count Out stipulation during the match. That worked against her because when she slapped Rollins and hit him with a low blow, Becky Lynch ran out to attack Evans. Evans was taken out of the match so referee John Cone made the count after Rollins hit the stomp on Corbin. Lynch and Rollins celebrated as the show went off the air.
