WWE SummerSlam Match Went Shorter Than Originally Planned

This Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event from Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland, OH, was a big success for the company and was a newsworthy show for several reasons.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Solo Sikoa in a Bloodline Rules match headlined the show. It featured the return of Roman Reigns after being absent since WrestleMania 40.

Other matches included Damian Priest vs. GUNTHER, seeing GUNTHER win the World Heavyweight Title, Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan vs. Rhea Ripley in the opener, CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre ending with McIntyre going over, WWE Women’s Champion Bayley dropping the title to Nia Jax, United States Champion Logan Paul putting over LA Knight in a title change, and Sami Zayn vs. Bron Breakker seeing Bron walk away with the Intercontinental Championship.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the Breakker vs. Zayn match went shorter than originally expected. It was allotted for ten minutes.
