Brock Lesnar vs. Cody Rhodes took place at the WWE SummerSlam premium live event from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
Rhodes came out firing with quick movement, fast strikes and springboard moves. Brock missed a spear and at the ring post. Rhodes with an outside dive. Back in the ring, Lesnar started to beat him down including hitting an F5 on the floor. Rhodes tried to mount a comeback before Lesnar hit an F5 to Rhodes through the announce table. Rhodes pushed him into the ring post, leading to him mounting a comeback with moves such as multiple cutters. Brock avoided Cross Rhodes and locked in the kimura only for Rhodes to get to the bottom rope. Rhodes locked in the kimura of his own, but Lesnar got out. Cody reversed the F5 and hit multiple Cross Rhodes for the win. Post-match, Lesnar shook hands, hugged and raised Rhodes’ arm.
Winner: Cody Rhodes.
