WWE SummerSlam Results: Seth Rollins Makes Shocking Return, Wins World Heavyweight Title

World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER vs. CM Punk took place at the WWE SummerSlam – night 1 Premium Live Event from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. 

Punk struggled to mount any type of offense in the early going with GUNTHER chopping him down. GUNTHER with a series of boots and chops. GUNTHER was talking trash to him as he was beating him down.  GUNTHER put him in the sharpshooter only got get out of it with a figure eight submission. GUNTHER got out of it and hit a german suplex. Punk fired up and hit some signature moves. Punk caught him in the triangle choke while bleeding from his chest. GUNTHER got out and Punk with a leg sweep. Punk with a running bulldog for 2. GUNTHER tossed him off the top rope and hit a splash for 2. Punk goes for the GTS, but GUNTHER reverses into a powerbomb. GUNTHER with a drop kick then a powerbomb for 2. GUNTHER got on top of the announce table and Punk knocked him down. GUNTHER came up gushing blood. Back in the ring, Punk with a running knee, a clothesline and elbow drop off the top rope. Punk went for the GTS, but GUNTHER locked in the rear-naked choke and Punk got out of it. Punk with the GTS and hit a second time for the win. 

Winner: CM Punk 

Post-match, Seth Rollins comes out with the Money in the Bank briefcase while on crutches and said Punk should enjoy it while he can. He acted like he was about to leave before coming down to the ring. Rollins went to cash in and Punk attacked him. Seth with the MITB as a weapon to beat down Punk. The match was on and Seth hit the curbstomp for the win.
