WWE Superstar Gunther Addresses Lack Of Interaction With John Cena

Gunther Discusses Strategy for John Cena’s Final Match

WWE Superstar Gunther appeared on The Rich Eisen Show to discuss his upcoming match against John Cena at Saturday Night’s Main Event. The match will serve as the final bout of Cena’s career.

Gunther spoke about the potential outcome of the match and his role in Cena’s retirement. He indicated his intention to defeat Cena.

“The last chapter will be written on Saturday. It’s just a question, is it going to be a happy end, or is it going to be a heartbreak?” Gunther said. “Exactly, and I’m going to do everything in my power that it’s going to be a heartbreak.”

When asked about his specific goals for the match, Gunther stated he wants to force Cena to submit. He referenced Cena’s “Never Give Up” motto.

“I’m looking for him to give up, to admit he can’t go no more,” Gunther stated. “That’s what I’m gonna go for. And, yeah, I think that’s what a drama is as well, in that match going into it.”

Limited Interactions
Gunther noted that he has had very little personal interaction with Cena prior to this feud, despite working in the same company.

“I can’t count one hand like it’s maybe I shook his hand three times, said hello,” Gunther revealed. “That’s all the interaction I had with him so far… usually it’s, I know all my opponents, more or less, we all work in the same company, but it’s not the case with him.”

Retiring Legends
Gunther also commented on being the one to retire a legend like Cena. He compared the situation to his previous match against Goldberg.

“I’m there to write people up. That’s my that’s my role. That’s my job,” Gunther said. “When you have a legend that has been in the business for such a long time, so many people have memories with them. They want them to go out with a big fanfare. It doesn’t always work out like that.”
