WWE Superstar Is Still Recovering Physically From WrestleMania Match

Damian Priest is heading into a championship opportunity at WWE Backlash this Saturday, but is still feeling the physical repercussions from his intense WrestleMania 41 match. Over two weeks after competing against Drew McIntyre in a brutal Sin City Street Fight at WWE’s biggest event, Priest acknowledged he hasn’t fully recuperated from it.

Speaking in a new interview with MLB Network, Priest discussed his physical state leading into the upcoming premium live event. “I still haven’t recovered from Mania physically,” he admitted. Despite this, Priest is bracing for another physically demanding contest at Backlash.

“So I’m looking at this match and I’m thinking to myself, ‘Okay, so I’m definitely gonna feel pain for a while.’ It is what it is,” Priest stated, acknowledging the caliber of his opponents. “…these are some of the heaviest hitters in the company, big guys that are mega stars right now. I’m looking forward to it because I love that physicality anyway.”

At Backlash, Priest will compete in a high-stakes Fatal Four-Way match for the WWE United States Championship, challenging the defending champion Jacob Fatu alongside Drew McIntyre and LA Knight.
